The Holy Bible, Romans 10:1-21
Paul prays that the Jews be saved as they have not realized that God Himself through Jesus Christ has made them right with Him (the new covenant). They are still holding on to the Law given to Moses and they are trying to stand right with God, but due to mans’ sinful nature they will never stand right with God by following the ‘old covenant law’ only.
By asking ‘who will go to heaven?’ we are bringing Jesus back to this world and nullifying what He has done for us; also when asking ‘who will go to hell?’ we are saying Jesus is dead and we are bringing Jesus back from the dead. Jesus Christ has already risen, He is alive and sitting at the right hand of God.
But true righteousness comes from faith, believing that the blood of Jesus Christ has made us free from the old covenant law and has made us right with our Father. God has given us His Spirit, the Holy Spirit and by giving us this Gift we now have the message and the law written in our hearts and it is in our mouths.
If you believe and declare that Jesus is Lord and that God brought Him back to life, you are saved.By believing you receive God’s approval and by declaring your faith you are saved and you will not be ashamed.
All man, Jews or non-Jews (religious, believers and non-believers), have the same Lord Jesus Christ and this Lord gives His riches to everybody that calls on Him and they are saved.
But people cannot call on the Lord if they don’t believe; how will they believe if they have not heard about Him? Someone needs to go out there and tell them about the only way to be saved and have eternal life. Those people that bring the good news are already saved and are beautiful people in His eyes.
Not everybody will believe (have faith) what they hear, but faith comes from hearing the word of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The whole world has heard the good news, even the religious ones, but they chose not to listen, to be otherwise and not believe the only way to salvation (eternal life) is through Jesus Christ. It is not enough to just believe that there is a god in the universe.
The good news of salvation (eternal life) has reached almost the whole world, and because they did not obey or hear, God will turn His back on them as they choose to not believe or have faith that our Lord Jesus Christ has risen to give us eternal life.
This is God’s plan of grace to forgive and remove all our sins. This is not a human plan and even if we follow the ‘old covenant law’ to the ‘T’ we cannot gain eternal life.
The only way to eternal live is;
• by believing that Jesus was raised from the dead by God
• and confessing out loud and accepting Jesus Christ as our only Lord and saviour and only
• by the grace of our God we are saved and have gained eternal life.
Our God is known as the Holy Trinity;
• God the Father (The God Head, the Creator),
• God the Son (Jesus Christ, our Saviour),
• God the Holy Spirit (Spirit of God, The Helper, our Guide and Teacher)
Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, our names are written in heaven. God has made us right with Him in the spirit, but our souls (mind, emotions, points of view, thoughts, etc.) and bodies are still contaminated by the wrong doings of the world and we need to unlearn those wrong thoughts and behaviours.
Now starts a journey of sanctification or cleanup. This is a life long journey due to our wrongfully learnt thoughts and behaviours, our sinful nature and mostly due to the reality and presence of our biggest enemy, satan and his demons.
This journey is not a journey you should or can walk alone. You need the strength of the Holy Trinity and the support of other Christ believers.
It is recommended that all new born Christians do the following:
Get the owners manual for Christian living, The Holy Bible. The Bible is translated into many languages and translations. Visit you local church or bookstore to get one. Read it everyday.
It might be that a friend or family member has been used by God to share the good news about your salvation. Join them at their local Bible based church or join one of you choice.
Be open to the teachings and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Learn how to speak to God using prayer. It’s like having a 2-way conversation with your dad. It is plain, simple and to the point, without demands.
◦ Praise and Thanks giving,
◦ Confess, Repent and ask for forgives of our sins,
◦ Ask for… guidance, wisdom, strength, insight, protection, etc.
◦ And then end with… “I pray in Jesus Name, Amen.”
Jesus taught the disciples to pray the Lords Prayer.
Matthew 6:9-13.
Be baptized with Water and by the Holy Spirit.
Read your Bible everyday and do additional research on Christian Living and having a true relationship with our God. Being a Christian does not require religious acts and rituals. It requires firstly faith and then prayer, an open mind and ears and community with other Jesus believers.
Persevere in walking the journey of sanctification. It is not easy, but the reward is great.
